One part at a time, one day at a time, we can accomplish any goal we set for ourselves. — Karen Casey
It must sound like a cliché at this point, but as much as it is so easy to step into the world and just start taking action this week, don't step out without clearly defining the things that you hope to achieve. Yes, you must have specifically defined goals that take you a step closer to the life that you desire.
There are so many reasons why setting defined goals for yourself at the beginning of any day or week is the ideal thing to do.
First, it's a sense of direction. Setting goals gives a sense of direction that we all crave for as humans, such that, even if we aren't exactly sure where we want to go or what we want to become in another 10 years, we can at least see the next 24 hours in front of us and all the activities we need to do that will make us feel in the least bit productive.
And if the only thing you have in life is a sense of direction, then you have enough.
Setting goals for that which you want to achieve over the next 24 hours or 7 days also dissuades random journeys you'd have embarked on and irrelevant actions you'd have taken. If you don't have specific goals, it'll look like you can do everything, like you have all the time in the world to go in all the directions that everyone else is pulling you.
If you don't know where you're going, everywhere will look like it, and by the time you have finished going from one place to another, escorting people who know exactly what they are doing and where they are going, you'd be too spent to get on your journey. This is why getting in your elements early and quickly cannot be overemphasized.
Many people think they don't have the ability to say No, or that saying No is difficult, and this is because they have not put structures in place to make saying No automatic. They don't set daily or weekly goals. Setting goals regularly will make saying No to things that are not in line with those goals the most natural thing to do, and you will have legal justification for saying No.
You think you don’t have the ability to say No because you haven’t put structures in place that make saying No automatic. You don’t set little daily goals.
The fear of people getting angry because you said no will be eliminated because even they can see all the things you have left to do. They can see the goals you need to achieve that day, and they wouldn't expect you to abandon all the goals you have set just to attend to that which is irrelevant to you.
The people who will be mad that you said No, even while knowing you have a list of things that you've got to do, those are the exact kinds of people you don't want in your life.
Finally, for those who aren't exactly sure what they should be chasing after on the longer term, these little daily goals will build up into much larger substances. They will come together as a pointer to where you need to be headed. They will be like the little drops of water making the mighty ocean.
So the best thing you can do, if you aren't seeing 5, 10 or 20 years into the future, is to take it one 24 hours at a time. Structure your hours into goals and deploy your senses and muscles to achieve them.
As you achieve your goals every 24 hours, it gives you the strength to achieve more on a larger scale, in 7 days, and then in 30 days, and then you would have lived one whole year achieving goals that you never thought possible.
Again, as you continue in this week, make sure you have set a course you want to run on, by setting goals for each day, and for this week.

Goals for the year.
Goals for the month.
Goals for the week.
To-do lists for each day!
I think I consume more paper than the average person because I write all these down.
Do you also have a to-do list to function everyday or feel like you achieved sth?
This post is gold 👏.
Thank you for writing this!!!
