In the spirit of Easter, shall we discuss resurrection?
If the beaten, crucified, dead, and buried could rise on the third day, then it means all those abandoned goals, good habits, much needed discipline and sense of purpose you have lost can also rise again.
At the start of the year, we had a lot of goals, or if you are like me, you had some specific goals you wanted to achieve, specific skills you wanted to focus on this year, some specific relationships you wanted to build on, but right now, you can't even tell what happened to all those goals.
If you're like me, at the start of the year, there were some habits you made a point to drop, some habits you decided to take up, some skills you decided to focus on, some parts of your life you decided you were going to be more disciplined and intentional about, but right now, you can't even understand what has happened.
You wanted to have read five books by April, and you are still here, struggling with the first few pages of book number one.
You wanted to learn data analysis, or UI/UX, but you started the introduction, took the first class and never looked back again. Life happened.
You wanted to be praying for 30 minutes every morning, but you haven't even prayed a total of 30 minutes if you combine all the days of this year together.
You had this grand business idea to start at the beginning of the year. You took your time to think about it, you were asking ChatGPT questions around it, but other things demanded your attention and you let the idea die.
You wanted to start waking up early and working out for your banging body, but it seemed the devil attacked that particular goal, and you're now sleeping till 11am every morning. Tamboult "I'm working from home." Agba remote worker.
Now it feels like all those goals and good plans you had for yourself is dead. Let me minister to you today! If dry bones could rise again, if Jesus could rise again, those goals and good plans you had for yourself can too! Amen somebody?!
There's still time. You can go back to the course this week! You can start waking up early, working out, praying more, reading daily. You can stop the habit you wanted to stop, like sleeping in, not doing your dishes for three days, etc. If you find it difficult, you can get yourself an accountability partner.
But don't forget them! Cause them to resurrect! Don't decieve yourself to think they don't matter. There's a reason you made those plans in the first place!
You think they have been left inactive for months and are now dead? Dead things can wake up. We are literally celebrating resurrection.
Thing is, your good plans aren't even dead yet. They are just sleeping and need a little nudge from an accountability partner, an incentive to do these things, a push, etc. A little push will see them Resurrect.
Whilst we celebrate the spirit of Easter and the hope of resurrection, look within, recognize all the things that need to be resurrected in you; your goals, your business ideas, your habits, your vision, your relationships, your skills, you name it. They need resurrection, and you have what it takes to resurrect them.
Brood over them this week. Think about all that should be resurrected. Write them down and start making plans to roll the tomb and raise them up like Jesus did on the third day that year.
If you're unsure of how to make this work, just write them out and let's discuss how to resurrect them next week.
Happy Easter!
