You can still achieve something tangible in 18 days.
Of course it's close to the end of the year, and if there's anything anyone would write about, you know it'd be somewhat themed to match the end of the year energy.
You'd read many pieces about preparing and planning for the new year, in fact, that's the energy we used to choose the book of the month at our book club this month; to prepare us ahead for next year.
It's good to plan ahead and all, but in this newsletter, I'll be the biggest fan for the remaining few days of the year.
I believe that it's not over. There's still at least 18 days to go in the year, so I am of the opinion that lives can still be changed this year, lives can still grow.
You can still achieve something tangible. A pleasant thing can still come out of something you decide to start right now. You only have to decide, here and now, in this final lap, to give it all you've got.
You thought about starting to learn a skill this year, but you never did, and you're thinking of starting it next year, with the fresh month. You can start it right now. In this moment. Immediately after reading this newsletter. You can download or purchase or borrow or attach yourself to a person that has that tool you need to start learning the skill.
18 days is a lot to not learn anything if you decide to start now. You just have to give it all you've got, and you will feel a lot better about yourself at the end of the year, because it won't even be an end for you, but a continuation. You will be happy you started it.
You probably thought 2023 was the year when you'd read a book from cover to cover. 18 days is too much for you to start and finish a book if you start right now! There are a lot of aids you can use. There are audiobooks that can help you even read two books before the end of this year. Yes! You can read two books before the year ends! You only need to be strategic about what you read and the length of it.
There are soft copies you can use to read. I have seen many people excuse not reading because they don't like soft copies, they need hard copies, and I always tell them, if you're waiting until you have something to start, then maybe you shouldn't bother starting at all. If you want it so desperately, you will start with what you have. If you have a soft copy, read a soft copy until you get a hard copy! It's that simple. You only have to decide to give it all that you've got!
If you want it so desperately, you will start with what you have.
You wanted to do a course this year. You honestly can still sign up for it. If it's a paid course and you don't have money to purchase it, find the free version of that same course and start taking it. Yes, there's a free version for every course you want to take. You only have to want it so bad that you search for it everywhere.
Hint: Start with YouTube.
There's a free version for every course you want to take. You only have to want it so bad that you search for it everywhere.
You wanted to build a good habit but couldn't, so you think you'd start next year. Dear Reader, it takes 66 days to lock in a good habit forever, you can start the first 18 days this year, and it will get easier by January. You only have to give it all you've got. Apply yourself to it. Give it everything.
You were hoping you'd build a solid, quality relationship this year, but it's not looking like it anymore.
My first question is, did you go out? No? You have worked from home all year and have given all the excuses in the world just so you won't go out? Even when you go to church or mosque or anywhere else you've had to go to this year, at the end of it, you disappeared without trace? And you want to build relationships? See your life? See how you're sabotaging?
There's no quote here. Just a bombastic side eye. 🙄🙄🌚
Anyway, this newsletter is not to scold you, but to let you know that December is the perfect time to meet new people and potentially develop new, great relationships.
There are just too many events now, pick two or three of the best that align with your values so you can meet people who share the same values as you. You have to leave your house and give it all you've got!
The point of this whole thing is, 18 days is a lot of time to skip and start again next year. You can still give it your all.
Here's the funny thing, this is a season connoted for giving, gifting, loving, caring for others, but as some of my friends at the book club I am in said the last time we met; you cannot give what you do not have. To give, you first have to give to yourself.
You cannot teach a skill you do not have, you cannot share a knowledge you have not read, you cannot impact the life of someone you haven't met, you cannot become an ideal self through habits you have not built, you cannot build a full and exciting life through places you have not gone.
You have to give to yourself for the remainder of this year and continue doing that even after the crossover if you want to be more useful and give more to the people around you and the ones looking up to you.
As we preach giving this season, don't forget to give yourself the skill, the business, the job and the scholarship opportunity by applying, the relationship, the outing, the gifts you deserve. Give, and give it all you've got!
To your growth,
Abiola Okunsanya,
Handzinspired. ✨
P. S. For the most past of this news letter, I was actually speaking to myself. Now I need to go and do the needful.
What came to mind is, how can you receive, when you've not given all it takes? Hmm
Thank you for sharing once again
